The Fuqua School of Business located at Duke University in Durham , North Carolina , has a relatively short history. It is the youngest of the top-tier business schools in the USA having started in 1970. Yet in that short period of time it has managed to establish itself as one of the most prominent business schools in the world. The annual enrollment in the business programs at Fuqua is about 1,350.
The different courses are the Duke MBA (daytime) program, which is the equivalent of the full-time MBA course. Then there is the Global Executive MBA program and the Weekend Executive MBA program. There is also a Cross Continent program and a Ph.D program. The Executive Education programs are attended by more than 1,000 managers each year.
The full-time MBA course is not for everyone. This is why the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University has created some flexible and innovative MBA programs. Each of the programs enables you to carry on with your career as well as your life whilst earning an MBA from one of the top 5 business schools in the world. The Financial Times ranked the executive MBA programs no.3 in the world, Business Week ranked them No.4 and the U.S. News & World Report ranked them no.5.
Don't think though that if you choose not to take the full-time course you will miss out on having the best teaching. The same world-class faculty members teach on all of Fuqua's programs and each of the programs offer the same core curriculum, which lead to the same MBA degree from Duke.
The Weekend Executive course is well-established and highly respected and sees students meeting on alternate weekends at the Fuqua campus in Durham , North Carolina . You can therefore gain some strategic vision whilst participating in diverse teams containing managers that average more than 11 years of work experience.
The Global executive is designed for executives who have a minimum of 10 years experience, and the executives on it have an average of 14 years experience. They also need to have global responsibilities. Traditional teaching is combined with distance learning enabled by the Internet. There are in-classroom residencies in South America, Asia, Europe as well as in the USA .
The Cross Continent MBA is a unique 20 month program aimed at high-potential professionals who have between 3 and 9 years experience. The flexibility is maximized by a combination of week-long residencies in Asia, Europe, United States and internet-enabled distance learning. This enables students to study from anywhere in the world whilst continuing their careers.
So the Duke MBA can be taken online as part of these last two programs. It is not delivered entirely online though.
